A Place for Cafe Refugees and Others Like Them

https://i1.wp.com/i37.photobucket.com/albums/e66/LarrytheDuck/TPM_Castaways/f2c411e2.gifHowdy folks… Nice site . . .

Somehow I’m not even surprised about that type of headline.

If you wish to read the entire report you will find a copy of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities Report over at the Yuku TPM Café Castaways site. This is the direct link to the blog post.

But as I said before, none of this crazy-talk is surprising in the least. Afterall I have no expectations that anything is going to change that comes out of the whacky-doodles.  I mean take a look at ol’  Huckleberry Huckabee jacking his jaw at the Value Voters Summit against insurance coverage for those who have pre-existing conditions. As reported by Brian Beutler over TPMDC, here’s how Brian reported the Huckster’s cornpone point:

“Suppose we applied that principle [to] our property insurance. And you can call your insurance agent and say, “I’d like to buy some insurance for my house.” He’d say, “Tell me about your house.” “Well sir, it burned down yesterday, but I’d like to insure it today.” And he’ll say “I’m sorry, but we can’t insure it after it’s already burned.” Well, no preexisting conditions.”

Here’s the audio from Media Matters

Yee Haw …

  1. Good to see you posting here, Ducky. And, no, I’m not surprised either by the headline. The Party of No is living up to its name quite well, no?

    • Hi ya’ Lis . . .

Yup… The Party of Nothing battling the Party of the Un-herdable Cats.

But the kicker about the slashing of funds like those of the NIH (21%??? that’s equal to $6.5 billion in the 2011 fiscal year) is totally out to lunch.

  2. Thanks for the link, ogd. Nice to have all pieces of the puzzle together in one place, a bit overwhelming to have it staring back at you all together as one. But convenient for reference. And for getting the outrage up.

No matter how hard I try, I can’t figure out how Huckabee can reconcile a burned down house with a human being.
